RESOLUTION NO. 2005-134
A resolution authorizing the dedication ot right-ot-way tor South Pearl Street.
WHEREAS, a portion of land located between Rockport Road and Riverside Street was
originally dedicated for street purposes on February 25, 1854, with the recording of
Miltimore's Addition to the City of Janesville; and
WHEREAS, this street portion was vacated by Common Council adoption of Resolution 96-
2040 on June 10,1996; and
WHEREAS, the property owner abutting this street portion is now requesting that the City
accept the dedication and assume ownership of this street portion;
WHEREAS, said dedication and acceptance of right-of-way by the City of Janesville for
South Pearl Street is in the City's best interest and consistent with City plans; and
WHEREAS, the Janesville Plan Commission reviewed this dedication of land for right-of-way
purposes at their meeting on 7 February 2005 and found it consistent with long range City
plans; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City of
Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin, that they hereby authorize and direct the City Manager
and the City Clerk, and/or his/her designee, to negotiate, enter into and accept on behalf of
the City of Janesville, the dedication of land and enter into this transaction, land use, and
purpose as contemplated herein; to accept said land dedication; and to negotiate, execute
and enter into such additional documents, papers, amendment(s), and forms on behalf of the
City of Janesville as, from time to time, may be necessary and/or desirable to effectuate such
transaction(s) and the intent of this resolution as the City Manager may decide; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and his designees are hereby
authorized to administratively take whatever minor changes to these transactions, deeds, and
related documents on behalf of the City of Janesville, that the City Manager may, from time to
time, find necessary and/or desirable to effectuate the intent of this resolution.
