ORDINANCE NO. 2004-253
An ordinance changing the zoning classification of property located south at 1719 West
Racine Street from M1 to R2, with a penalty and injunctive relief for a violation thereof as
set forth in Section 18.28.010 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville.
THE COMMON COUNCil OF THE CITY OF JANESVlllE DO ORDAIN AS FOllOWS:
SECTION I. The zoning classification of the following described property is hereby changed
from M1, Light Industrial District, to R2, Limited General Residence District:
Part of the S~ of Section 35 T.3N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Janesville Township, Rock County,
Wisconsin.
DESCRIBED AS FOllOWS: Beginning at the southeast corner of lot 16, Smith's Addition;
thence north along the east line of said lot 16 and said east line extended, 423 feet, more or
less to the northeast corner of lot 22, Smith's Addition; thence east along the north line of said
lot 22 extended, 12 feet; thence north and perpendicular to said north line, 40 feet, more or
less, to the centerline of West Racine Street; thence west along said centerline, 136.12 feet;
thence continuing west along said centerline, 17 feet; thence continuing west along said
centerline 62.5 feet, more or less, to the east right-of-way line of South Oakhill Avenue; thence
continuing west 40 feet, more or less, to the centerline of South Oakhill Avenue; thence south
along said centerline 464 feet, more or less, to a point along the south line of said lot 16
extended; thence east along said south line extended, 40 feet, more or less, to the east line of
South Oakhill Avenue; thence continuing east, 62.5 feet; thence continuing east, 17 feet to the
southwest corner of lot 16, Smith's Addition; thence east along the south line of said lot 16,
124.12 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
