2005-133 RESOLUTION # 2005-133 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JANESVILLE TO ACCEPT A WISCONSIN DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES GRANT FOR GOOSE MANAGEMENT WHEREAS, the City of Janesville has established a goose management program; and WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources offered grants to governmental agencies for the management of Canada geese; and WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has offered the City of Janesville a 50% matching grant of $3,000; and WHEREAS, the grant will be matched by $3,000 in the Park Department budget which is earmarked for goose management; and WHEREAS, accepting this grant is in the best interest of the City of Janesville. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that they hereby authorize the City Manager and/or designee to accept this Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources grant on behalf of the City as the City Manager deemed necessary or desirable to effectuate the intent of this resolution and such grant programs. AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Janesville shall comply with all of the State rules for this program, may perform force account work, and will attain from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources approval, in writing, before any changes are made to the use of these grant funds. AND, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and/or his designee may from time to time, negotiate, draft, amend, execute and enter into such changes and other documents to the grant, contracts and agreements, and take such other action as the City Manager may deem necessary or desirable to effectuate the intent of this resolution and such grant program.
