2019-1684 RESOLUTION NO. 2019 — 1684 Whereas, Mark Johnson is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for over 21 years, retiring as a Driver with the Janesville Fire Department; and Whereas, during Mark Johnson's employment with the City of Janesville, he provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and Whereas, Mark Johnson began his employment with the City of Janesville as a Firefighter/Paramedic with Janesville Fire Department in March of 1998; and Whereas, Mark Johnson was involved in a variety of assignments during his tenure in the Fire Department, including Firefighter, Paramedic, Engine Paramedic, and Driver; and Whereas, Mark Johnson served the department as a Hazmat Team Member, Dive Team Member, Car Seat Technician, Recruit Trainer, and was an impassioned Instructor for the Fire Prevention Bureau's School Fire Prevention and Education Program; and Whereas, Mark Johnson was recognized as the 2017 VFW Firefighter of the Year Award recipient; and Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly recognized. Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Mark Johnson for his 21 years of loyal public service.
