RESOLUTION # 2004-75
ACTION ON A PROPOSED RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A CITIZENS GROUP
TO BUILD A FENCED DOG PARK
IN JANESVILLE
WHEREAS, a citizens group by the name of Friends of Paw Print Park are interested in developing
a fenced dog park in Janesville; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of Paw Print Park are requesting permission to construct a seventeen (17)
acre fenced dog park in Prairie Knoll Park; and
WHEREAS, the Friends of Paw Print Park intend to conduct ongoing volunteer services and fund
raising activities in support of the fenced dog park; and
WHEREAS, this proposed project is in the best interest of Janesville residents;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Janesville, hereby
authorizes the City Administration to accept the donation of a fenced dog park to be built at Prairie Knoll
Park; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Friends of Paw Print Park may proceed with fundraising
activities in support of the fenced dog park; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Administration may establish appropriate user fees
and a Special Revenue Fund for this facility; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Manager and/or his designee on behalf of the City of
Janesville are hereby directed to supervise the construction and maintenance of this public improvement to
ensure that it complies with all construction, operations and maintenance standards and to take whatever
other actions as the City Manager and/or his designee may determine from time to time and at any time,
necessary and/or desirable to effectuate the intent of this resolution and/or project.
