2019-1681 RESOLUTION NO. 2019-1681
A resolution authorizing the City Manager to proceed with the sale of the vacant lot
located at 405 - 407 South Main Street.
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville owns the following described parcels:
SHUMWAY'S S.D. LOT 2 EX.PC.IN NE COR.BND.AS FLLS: N.BY N.L.LOT 2;E.BY E.L.LOT
2;W.BY LINE PLL TO & 42'W.SD.E.L.;S.BY LINE PLL TO S.L.OAKLAND AVE.& 60.
25'S.THEREFROM JC600611900001; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission reviewed the proposed future use of the properties during
the acquisition review on September 17, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the Offer to Purchase is $31,000 (Thirty One Thousand Dollars) from Forward
Foundation, Inc; and
WHEREAS, the buyer owns an adjoining parcel and intends to leave the parcel as
greenspace for the foreseeable future.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City of
Janesville that it hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager and the City Clerk-Treasurer
to execute on behalf of the City of Janesville, the sale of such properties; and to negotiate
and execute such documents, papers and forms as may from time to time be necessary
and/or desirable to effectuate such transaction and the intent of this resolution as the City
Manager may decide; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to take whatever
other actions or to make whatever other minor changes that may be necessary to effectuate
these land transactions.
