An ordinance to amend Chapter 10 (Vehicles and Traffic) pertaining to overnight public
parking in the City of Janesville with penalties as set forth in J.G.O. 10.36.060.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 10.36.050 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is hereby
amended to read as follows:
Section 10.36.050 —Sleeping in vehicles unlawful
A. It is unlawful for any person to sleep in a parked vehicle while on any public street, public
parking lot or park, from the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., unless otherwise posted, at
one location only, the North Traxler Boat Launch, with a sunset date on the overnight
parking of October 31, 2019.
B. It is unlawful to sleep in a parked vehicle on private property, at any time, without the
consent of the owner or lessee.
