2019-751 REVISED ORDINANCE NO. 2019-751 An ordinance annexing territory located in Section 13, T.2N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Rock Township, Rock County, Wisconsin. WHEREAS, the City of Janesville is proposing to annex territory under Wis. Stats. 66.0223 - "Annexation of Territory Owned by a City"; and WHEREAS, there are eight electors residing in the territory; and WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by law to all persons affected; and WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby attached to the City of Janesville. LOCATED IN PART OF THE NW 1/4 OF THE SE 1/4, PART OF THE NE 1/4 OF THE SE 1/4, PART OF THE SW 1/4 OF THE NE 1/4 AND PART OF THE SE 1/4 OF THE NE 1/4 OF SECTION 13, T.2N., R.12E. OF THE 4TH P.M., TOWN OF ROCK, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Lot one of Certified Survey Map Number 896080 as recorded in Volume 8, Pages 124 and 125 of Certified Survey Maps in the Rock County Register of Deeds Office in Rock County, Wisconsin; and Lot one of Certified Survey Map Number 894005 as recorded in Volume 8, Pages 54 and 55 of Certified Survey Maps of the Rock County Register of Deeds Office in Rock County, Wisconsin; and PART OF CERTIFIED SURVEY MAPS (LANDS DEDICATED TO THE PUBLIC) VOLUME 8, PAGES 114 AND 115 AND VOLUME 9, PAGES 132 AND 133 OF CERTIFIED SURVEY MAPS OF ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS; Commencing at the East 1/4 corner of said Section; thence N88°41'40"W along the North Line of the SE 1/4 of said Section, 514.70 feet to the NE Corner of said CSM, Volume 9, Pages 132 & 133; also being at the place of beginning for the land to be herein described; thence S1°18'01"W along the East Line of said CSM, 50.02 feet to the South Line of S.T.H. "11" thence N88°41'48"W along said South Line, 295.05 feet to the West Line of CSM, Volume 8, Pages 114 and 115; thence N1°18'01"E along said West Line, 17.03 feet to said South Line of S.T.H. "11"; thence N88°41'40"W continuing along said South Line, 1757.16 feet to the North-South Centerline of said Section; thence N0°00'24"E along said North-South Centerline, 33.01 feet to the center of said Section; thence N0°02'50"W along the West Line of the NE 1/4 of said Section, 59.01 feet to the existing city limits line; thence S88°41'40"E along said city limits line, 2054.34 feet; thence S1°18'01"W 59.0 feet to the place of beginning. The above-described property contains 5.48 acres. ORDINANCE NO. 2019-751 PAGE 2 SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Rock and thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any and all purpose provided by law. SECTION III. All the territory attached by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 32 of the City of Janesville. SECTION IV. There are eight residents in the area proposed for annexation. SECTION V. The annexation is within the Janesville School District. SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so requiring.
