A special meeting of the City Council held at the Municipal Building on October 21, 2004,
at 6:30 p.m.
Council President Steeber called the meeting to order. Present: Council President
Steeber, Councilmembers Addie, Brien, DeGarmo, Williams, Tim Wellnitz and Tom
Wellnitz.
The City Council reviewed the proposed 2005 revenue summary, the 2005 expenditure
summary and the following 2004 budgets: City Council, City Manager, City Assessor, City
Attorney, City Clerk-Treasurer, Finance Administration/Accounting, Human Resources,
Information Technology, Community Information, Community and Economic Development,
Public Works, Sanitation Fund, Industrial Waste, Water Utility, Wastewater Utility, Storm
Water Utility, Vehicle Operation and Maintenance, Insurance Fund, JATV, Library and the
Janesville Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (JACVB).
During the review of the budgets, the City Council asked various questions.
Councilmember Brien requested that the Administration add $9,000 to the budget for a
“Sharps” Program and that the City expand the compost site hours. Councilmembers Addie
and Williams would like to increase funding for JACVB in order to compete for
conventions.
There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 8:52 p.m.
