Study Session of the City Council of the City of Janesville held in the Municipal Building on
August 9,2004. The meeting was called to order by Council President Steeber at 7:45 p.m.
Present: Council President Steeber, Councilmembers Tim Wellnitz, Williams, DeGarmo, Brien,
Tom Wellnitz and Addie.
A. Milton Avenue Frontage Road Study. Bob Boldt, Director of Public Works, reviewed the report
by the traffic consultant on the Refset, Holiday and Lodge intersections. Six alternatives identified
by the Traffic Committee and city staff were analyzed. Council discussed the alternatives and
asked questions. By consensus, Council agreed to hold informational meetings for citizen
comment.
B. Franklin and Jackson Streets Two-way Conversions. Planning Director Brad Cantrell reviewed
the conversion study with Council. Council member Williams stated the proposal will require traffic
signal installation at the Jackson-Rockport Road intersection. Council member Brien requested a
copy of the traffic counts. By consensus, Council agreed to hold an informational meeting for
citizen comment.
There being no further business, Council adjourned at 9:08 p.m.
