2019-1602 RESOLUTION NO. 2019-1602
Whereas, Shawn Merath is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City and the community for over 17 years, retiring as
a Driver with the Janesville Fire Department; and
Whereas, during Shawn Merath's employment with the City, he provided exemplary
professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his
position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication;
and
Whereas, Shawn Merath began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Firefighter/Paramedic with the Janesville Fire Department in September of 2001; and
Whereas, Shawn Merath was involved in a variety of assignments during his tenure in
the Fire Department, including Firefighter, EMT, Driver, and Acting Lieutenant; and
Whereas, Shawn Merath served the department as a Tech Rescue Team member,
Hazmat Team member, Training Committee member, and Recruit Trainer; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Shawn Merath for his 17 years of
loyal public service.
