2019-1604 RESOLUTION NO. 2019-1604 Whereas, Kent Shea is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having diligently served the people of the City and the community for over 29 years, retiring as a Lieutenant/Paramedic with the Janesville Fire Department; and Whereas, during Kent Shea's employment with the City of Janesville, he provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and Whereas, Kent Shea began his employment with the City of Janesville as a Firefighter/Paramedic in October of 1989; and Whereas, Kent Shea was involved in a variety of assignments during his tenure in the Fire Department, including Firefighter, Paramedic, Engine Paramedic, Motor Pump Operator, Paramedic Preceptor, Lieutenant, and Acting Captain; and Whereas, Kent Shea served the department as a Dive Team member, Hazmat Team member and an EMS Committee member; and Whereas, Kent Shea was selected as the 1994 and 2008 Paramedic of the Year, 1998 Division Employee of the Year, and also maintained department meters, hazmat equipment, response zones, and the ordering of EMS supplies; and Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly recognized. Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Kent Shea for his 29 years of loyal public service.
