2019-1607 RESOLUTION NO. 2019 - 1607
Whereas, Theresa Biele is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City and the community for over 29 years, retiring as
an Information Services Coordinator at Hedberg Public Library; and
Whereas, during Theresa Biele's employment with the City, she provided exemplary
professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of her
position, which she performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication;
and
Whereas, Theresa Biele began her employment with the City at Hedberg Public Library
on October 23, 1989; and
Whereas, Theresa Biele was involved in a variety of assignments during her tenure at
Hedberg Public Library including Reference Assistant, Security Supervisor, Interlibrary
Loan Assistant, and finally the Interlibrary Loan Technician where she became a strong
advocate for patrons' full access to Interlibrary Loan services and resources; and
Whereas, her policy development in Interlibrary Loan, her streamlining of procedures,
and her working closely with software developers at the Department of Public
Instruction to ensure a smooth migration to a new version of Wiscat software has
benefited not only our patrons, but all libraries in Wisconsin; and
Whereas, Theresa Biele received multiple "I Make a Difference" awards for promoting
teamwork, making work more efficient, maximizing customer access, and valuing and
respecting the public, other employees, and volunteers; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Theresa Biele for her more than
29 years of loyal public service.
