An ordinance annexing territory in Section 23, T.3N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such territory proposed to be
annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there is one elector residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by
law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVlLLE DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
PART OF GOVERNMENT LOTS 5 AND 6 OF FRACTIONAL SECTION 23, T.3N., R.12E. OF
THE 4TM P.M., JANESVILLE TOWNSHIP, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN.
DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Commencing at the East ¼ corner of said Section; thence
N.26°34'28"W. 1212.70 feet to the most Northerly corner of a Certified Survey Map as recorded in
Volume 2, Page 153; thence S.65°43'W. along the Northwest line of said Certified Survey Map,
33.06 feet to the West line of C.T.H. "F"; also being at the place of beginning for the land to be
herein described; thence S.65°43'W. continuing along said Northwest line, 757.01 feet to
Meander Corner No. 1 of this description; thence S.65°43'W. continuing along said Northwest
line, 345 feet, more or less to the centerline of Rock River; thence Northerly along said
centerline, 765 feet, more or less, to the Westerly extension of the South line of a tract of land
described in Volume 574 of Records, Page 590; thence N.82°52'E. along said extension and
said South line, 310 feet, more or less to Meander Corner No. 2; said Meander Corner No. 2 is
located N.0°16'48"W. 659.8 feet from Meander Corner No. 1; thence N.82°52'E. continuing along
said South line 833.59 feet to said West line of C.T.H. "F"; thence S.28°16'47"W. along said West
line, 41.79 feet; thence S.27°30'42"W. continuing along said east line, 222.98 feet to a point of
curve; thence Southerly continuing along said West line, along a curve to the left, 224.53 feet,
having a radius of 261.55 feet and a chord bearing S.2°55'05"W. 217.70 feet to the place of
beginning.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of

Janesville and thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City
of Janesville for any and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 4 of
the City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There is one resident in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Janesville School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the
Common Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public
benefit, and police power so requiring.
