An ordinance amending JGO 15.01.140 I., II., and VII. to modify the fee structure for certain plumbing
permits and amending JGO 18.24.090 A. to modify the fee structure for certain review, with penalties for
violations thereof, together with injunctive relief and remedies upon default of forfeiture payment as set
forth in JGO 15.80.110 and JGO 18.28.010.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 15.01.140 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is hereby
amended to read as follows:
CITY OF JANESVILLE
PLUMBING PERMIT FEES
(Effective Date: January 1, 2019)
I. MINIMUM FEE $72.00
II. RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL PLUMBING PLAN APPROVAL
A. Plumbing Plan Approval required for the following installations:
1. New installations, addition and alteration involving 6 or more fixtures, to be
installed in public buildings.
2. Grease interceptors to be installed for public buildings.
Garage catch basins and oil interceptors to be installed in public buildings.
3. Automatic car wash facilities.
4. Sanitary dump station.
Fees for Plumbing Plan Approval —See Appendix A Building Division
VII. Failure to obtain a permit prior to commencement of work will result in a penalty of$100
or double the permit fee, whichever is greater, but in no event shall the penalty exceed $2,000.
Such penalty shall be paid in addition to the customary permit fee.
SECTION II. . All other subsections and fees set forth in JGO 15.01.140 are unaltered and
shall remain the same, including, but not limited to, the other subsections for the Plumbing
Fees that are being amended above.
SECTION III. Section 18.24.090(A) of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby amended to read as follows:

Reinspection Fee A One Hundred Dollar ($100.00) reinspection fee shall be charged by the City
against and paid by the property owner for every violation that is not correct by the reinspection
date. An additional One Hundred Dollar($100.00) reinspection fee shall be charged by the City
for each subsequent reinspection per violation until full compliance is achieved.
SECTION IV. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the
public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so requiring.
