2018-1568 RESOLUTION NO. 2018-1568
A resolution authorizing the transfer of previously borrowed note issue funds to
the Blackhawk Golf Course bridge replacement project.
WHEREAS, the rain event of February 20, 2018 damaged three pedestrian bridges at
Blackhawk Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville borrowed $64,000 in the 2018 note issuance, along
with previously borrowed funds of $36,428, for golf course maintenance equipment for
the bridge replacement; and
WHEREAS, bids received were considerably higher than anticipated and borrowed
funds are not enough to cover the total project; and
WHEREAS, $78,727 remains in the Oak Hill Cemetery maintenance building fund from
previously borrowed Note Issues; and
WHEREAS, the City, the City's golf course management partner KemperSports, and
the Golf Course Advisory Committee feel it is in the best interest of the golf course to
complete all bridge repairs as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council hereby find that it is in the best interest of the City to
authorize the transfer of previously borrowed funding to use for the Blackhawk Golf
Course bridge replacement project.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that the City Administration is hereby authorized to transfer and expend funds
from previously borrowed note issues described in the above recitals to use for the
replacement of bridges at Blackhawk Golf Course.
