2018-1569 RESOLUTION NO. 2018 — 1569
WHEREAS, Catherine A. Fisher is retiring from City of Janesville employment after
having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for over
15 years; retiring as a Bus Driver with the Janesville Transit System; and
WHEREAS, during Catherine's employment with the City of Janesville, she provided
reliable service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of her position,
which she performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Catherine began her employment with the City of Janesville as a part-time
Bus Driver in the Transit Division in March 2003 and was promoted to a full-time Bus
Driver on June 2, 2008; and
WHEREAS, Catherine received a Certificate of Commendation before the City Council
for her good work when a citizen fell into the river and was rescued; and
WHEREAS, Catherine earned a Commendation from the Transit Director in 2006 for
her initiative and concern for the operation of JTS, it's customers and its mission by
demonstrating attention to procedure, opening the system for the day by preparing all
the buses for their morning routes, staging them outside for arrival of the drivers when
the duly assigned staff had not shown up for work; and
WHEREAS, Catherine was a dedicated employee and will be missed by her customers
and co-workers; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Catherine Fisher for
her more than 15 years of loyal public service.
