2018-1562 RESOLUTION NO. 2018-1562
A resolution supporting the names of the Town Square east side pavilion as the
Cope Ryan Pavilion, the west side pavilion as the JP Cullen Memorial Pavilion,
and the pedestrian bridge as the Blain-Gilbertson Family Heritage Bridge.
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville, as part of the ARISE Program, is engaged in a
partnership with the Forward Foundation for the installation of Town Square
improvements; and
WHEREAS, Forward Foundation has secured private donations in excess of $100,000
for individual Town Square improvements, including east and west pavilions and a
pedestrian bridge; and
WHEREAS, according to Council Policy Statement No. 94 — Naming City Property, for
donations in excess of $100,000, the Council may, after holding a public hearing,
approve the naming of these facilities; and
WHEREAS, the pavilions and the pedestrian bridge are key elements of the Town
Square project.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JANESVILLE, that the Council does hereby name the Town Square east side pavilion as
the Cope Ryan Pavilion, the west pavilion as the JP Cullen Memorial Pavilion, and the
pedestrian bridge as the Blain-Gilbertson Family Heritage Bridge.
