2018-1522 RESOLUTION NO. 2018-1522
A resolution supporting the naming of a pavilion at Palmer Park tennis courts in
memory of Patrick W. Ryan
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville was approached by friends of Patrick W. Ryan on a
proposal to construct a pavilion at the Palmer Park tennis courts in honor of Patrick W.
Ryan; and
WHEREAS, according to Council Policy Statement No. 94, after introduction, the
proposal must be reviewed by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and not
acted on for ninety (90) days after introduction; and
WHEREAS, Patrick W. Ryan was a Janesville native and businessperson whose
hobbies included playing tennis; and
WHEREAS, the entirety of the project will be funded by friends of Patrick W. Ryan; and
WHEREAS, the pavilion would be a meaningful addition to the tennis courts;
NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City of
Janesville, that the Janesville City Council do hereby name the proposed pavilion at
Palmer Park tennis courts after Patrick W. Ryan.
