REVISED RESOLUTION NO. 2018-1554
A RESOLUTION REASSIGNING WARDS TO POLLING PLACES
WHEREAS, the School District of Janesville is no longer willing to host polling places is school
facilities; and
WHEREAS, the voting is an integral part of democracy; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville respects the time that residents must sacrifice in order to
vote; and
WHEREAS, voter turnout in the City of Janesville is generally higher than the statewide voter
turnout; and
WHEREAS, the City has identified appropriate polling places that meet needs of the citizens
and will increase the speed and efficiency of voting;
WHEREAS, Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church is not available in August, 2018;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that it
hereby assigns the City wards to the following polling places.
Ward Numbers Polling Place Assignment
Wards 1, 2, and 31 Faith Lutheran Church
Wards 7, 8, 9, 10, 30 and 32 Rock County Job Center
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FUTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that it hereby assigns the City wards to the following polling places beginning with the
November, 2018 election.
