2018-719 ORDINANCE NO. 2018-719
An ordinance annexing territory located in the NE.1/4 of the SE.1/4 of Section 34, T.3N.,
R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Janesville Township, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owner of the land within such territory proposed to be
annexed has been filed with the City Clerk-Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, there is one elector residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby attached to the City of Janesville.
Located in the NE.1/4 of the SE.1/4 of Section 34, T.3N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Janesville, County of Rock, State of Wisconsin described as follows:
The West 100 feet of the North 200 feet of the NE.1/4 of the SE.1/4 of Section 34, T.3N., R.12E.
of the 4th P.M., Town of Janesville, County of Rock, State of Wisconsin; and portion of adjoining
ROW conveyed to the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation, by a Warranty Deed
dated February 28, 1991, recorded April 15, 1991, as Document No. 1130944, on Card 474,
Images 32-34, in the Office of the Register of Deeds for Rock County, Wisconsin described as
follows, commencing at a monument marking the quarter corner common to Section 34 and 35,
T.3N., R.12E.; thence S88°31'44"W, 1168.06 feet to the point of beginning, thence
S00°00'00"W, 44 feet more or less to the south right of way of W Court St, thence S82°11'00"W,
237 feet more or less, thence N89°18'45"W, 265.19 feet, thence S88°31'35"W, 187 feet more or
less to the western boundary of Lot 1, CSM 1083389, thence N00°00'00"E, 111 feet more or
less to the north right of way of W Court St, thence N88°31'35"E, 674 feet more or less, thence
N88°31'01"E, 15.12 feet, thence S00°00'00"W, 49.77 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Janesville and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory attached by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 33 of the
City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There is one resident in the area proposed for annexation.

SECTION V. The annexation is within the Janesville School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
