2018-1530 RESOLUTION NO. 2018 — 1530 WHEREAS, Jimmy Holford, Jr. is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 31 years, retiring as a Deputy Police Chief with the Janesville Police Department; and WHEREAS, during Jimmy Holford Jr.'s employment with the City of Janesville, he provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and WHEREAS, Jimmy Holford, Jr. began his employment with the City of Janesville as a Police Officer with the Janesville Police Department; and WHEREAS, Jimmy Holford, Jr., was involved in a variety of assignments during his career including Field Training Officer, Police Sergeant Patrol Division, SIMS Instructor, Police Sergeant Street Crimes Division, Lieutenant Patrol Division, SWAT Team Commander, and a member of the SWIM Team. Jimmy also received Division Employee of the Year in 1993, the Chief's Award of Excellence in 2006, Chief's Commendations in 1992, 2007, and 2014, and the meritorious service "Mighty Oak" Award in 2017; and WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly recognized. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville, through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Jimmy Holford Jr. for his 31 years of loyal public service.
