A Resolution Authorizing the City of Janesville to proceed with the sale of the
property located at 200 West Milwaukee Street to ORC 214, LLC
WHEREAS, Wis. Stats 62.22(1), 62.23(17)(a), 62.23(17)(b), 66.0101, and 62.11(5) and
other pertinent Wisconsin Statutes permit the City's acquisition, development,
ownership, protection, and subsequent sale and/or other conveyance of surplus real
property; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville owns the following described parcel, better known as
200 West Milwaukee Street, Janesville Wisconsin: Smith-Bailey & Stones Add East
156.95' lots, 88, 90 101 & 103 Except North 15'; and
WHEREAS, The City of Janesville acquired the property located at 200 West
Milwaukee Street for additional City office space; and,
WHEREAS, the City deemed the space surplus in January 2014 and listed it for sale in
February 2018; and
WHEREAS, The City of Janesville has been approached by ORC 214, LLC to sell the
property for other private uses; and
WHEREAS, The City of Janesville and ORC 214, LLC have agreed to a sale price in
the amount of $275,000; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council hereby finds that the sale of this surplus property is
consistent with City Plans and in the best interest of and benefit to the City and
community; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF JANESVILLE that it hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager and the City
Clerk-Treasurer to execute on behalf of the City of Janesville the sale of such property;
and to negotiate and execute such documents, papers and forms as may from time to
time be necessary and/or desirable to effectuate such transaction and the intent of this
resolution as the City Manager may decide; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to take
whatever other actions or to make whatever other changes that may be necessary to
effectuate this land transaction.
