2018-1515 RESOLUTION NO. 2018 — 1515
WHEREAS, Donald J. Hochmuth is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for over 16 years;
retiring as a Bus Driver with the Janesville Transit System; and
WHEREAS, during Donald's employment with the City of Janesville, he provided exemplary
professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his position,
which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Donald began his employment with the City of Janesville as a part-time Bus Driver
in the Transit Division in August of 2001 and was promoted to a full time Bus Driver on August
18, 2003; and
WHEREAS, Donald served on the JTS Safety Committee and the JTS Hiring Advisory
Committee where his integrity and experience were demonstrated and valued by all committee
members; and
WHEREAS, Donald earned the Safe Driving Award for having zero preventable accidents for 11
years, an example of his attentive and safety-focused driving; and
WHEREAS, Donald was the recipient of the Neighborhood & Community Services Department
Mighty Oak Award in December 2015 for his active involvement in the community, strong
organizational values, multi-talented service and willingness to adapt and embrace change; and
WHEREAS, Donald was an exemplary employee and will be missed by his customers and co-
workers; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly
recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Donald Hochmuth for his more than
sixteen years of loyal public service.
