2018-1501 Resolution No. 2018-1501
A Resolution Temporarily Moving Wards 3 and 4 to the Police Services Building
for Elections to be Held on April 3, 2018 and August 14, 2018.
WHEREAS, City Hall will undergo a major renovation to the fourth floor beginning in
March, 2018 and ending in August 2018; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville has two wards that use City Hall as a polling place;
and
WHEREAS, the fourth floor of City Hall will not be available for use as a polling place in
April and August; and
WHEREAS, the governing body shall establish the location of polling places at least 30
days prior to the election, per §5.25(3) of the Wisconsin Statutes; and
WHEREAS, providing open and accessible polling places to the voters is extremely
important, as is considering the prudent use of City tax dollars.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Janesville
does hereby temporarily relocate Wards 3 and 4 from City Hall to the First Floor of City
Hall, 18 North Jackson Street, for the April 3, 2018 and August 14, 2018 elections.
