2018-1489 RESOLUTION NO. 2018-1489
A RESOLUTION authorizing the submittal of a state grant application by the City
Administration and the subsequent appropriation of City of Janesville funds for the
Monterey Area River Restoration Municipal Flood Control Grant project.
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville is qualified, willing, and able to carry out all activities
described in the state application; and,
WHEREAS, in this action the City of Janesville has declared its intent to conduct the
Municipal Flood Control Grant described in the application; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville will allow employees from the Department of Natural
Resources access to inspect the grant project sites; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville will maintain records documenting all expenditures
made during the Municipal Flood Control grant project; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville will submit a final report to the Department which
describes all Municipal Flood Control Grant project activities, achievements, data
collected, and documentation of the projects; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council find that this program, grant, and resolution are each
in the best interests of the City and of benefit to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that:
The City of Janesville Common Council requests the funds and assistance available
from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources under the Municipal Flood Control
Grant Program and will comply with the state rules for the program, and
HEREBY FURTHER AUTHORIZES the City Manager to act on behalf of the City of
Janesville to submit an application to the State of Wisconsin for financial aid for
Municipal Flood Control protection purposes, sign documents, and take necessary
action to undertake, direct, and complete an approved flood control project; and this
resolution may be amended by the City Manager from time to time to effectuate its
intent and purpose without any additional prior or other Council action.
