2018-1477 RESOLUTION NO. 2018-1477
A RESOLUTION authorizing the City Administration to submit a grant application and to
participate in the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Municipal Dam Grant program
for the Monterey Dam.
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville owns the Monterey Dam and requests financial assistance
under s. 31.385 and s 227.11, Wis. Stats., and Ch. NR 335, Wis. Adm. Code, for the purpose of
dam abandonment and removal; and
WHEREAS, the state share for a dam removal project is one hundred percent (100%) of the
total eligible projects costs up to a maximum $400,000.00 grant award; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council find that this program, grant, and resolution are each in the
best interests of the City and of benefit to the community.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that:
The City Engineer is authorized on behalf of the City of Janesville to submit an application to the
DNR for financial aid under Ch. NR 335, Wis. Adm. Code; sign grant agreement documents;
take any and all necessary actions to complete the project associated with any grant
agreement; and submit reimbursement claims along with necessary supporting documentation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that the City
agrees to pay a share of eligible costs which is equal to the total project costs minus the state
share; and this resolution may be amended by the City Manager from time to time to effectuate
its intent and purpose without any additional prior or other Council action.
