An ordinance establishing a residency requirement for members of the Zoning Board of
Appeals.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Chapter 2.28 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is
hereby amended to read as follows:

ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS
Sections:
2.28.010 Powers--Duties.
2.28.010 Powers--Duties. The zoning board of appeals has the same powers and
duties as shown in Section 62.23(7)(e) of the Wisconsin Statutes. Members of the zoning board
of appeals shall be City of Janesville residents, except that members currently serving as of
June 30, 2017 shall be permitted to complete their term even if not a resident of the City of
Janesville.
