An ordinance annexing territory in Part of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4, the SW 1/4, the SE 1/4
and the NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 7, and Part of the NE 1/4 and the NW 1/4 of the NE
1/4 of Section 18, all in Township 3 North, Range 13 East, Town of Harmony, Rock
County, Wisconsin,
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owner of the land within such territory proposed to be
annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby attached to the City of Janesville.
Part of the SE 1/4 of the NW 1/4, SW 1/4 of the NE 1/4, NW 1/4 of the SE 1/4, SW 1/4 of the SE
1/4, SE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 and the NE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 7, and Part of the NE 1/4 of
the NE 1/4 and the NW 1/4 of the NE 1/4 of Section 18, all in Township 3 North, Range 13 East,
Town of Harmony, Rock County, Wisconsin, described as follows: Commencing at the East
Quarter Corner of said Section 7; thence N 87°32'44" W, 1318.72 feet along the east-west
quarter line of said Section 7 to the northwest corner of the East 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of said
Section 7 and the Point of Beginning; thence S 00°38'40" E, 1881.38 feet along the west line of
the East 1/2 of said SE 1/4; thence S 69°52'34" E, 569.98 feet to the northwesterly right-of-way
of the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WDOT) railroad corridor; thence S 29°33'41" W,
153.30 feet along said northwesterly right-of-way of the WDOT railroad corridor to a curve;
thence Southwesterly 690.69 feet along said northwesterly WDOT railroad corridor right-of-way
and the arc of a curve to the right, having a radius of 9583.21 feet and a chord bearing S
31°37'34" W, 690.54 feet to the southwesterly right-of-way of Interstate Highway 90 as
established by Plat of Right of Way, Project 1-90-3(30)161; thence N 46°26'41" W, 227.26 feet
along said southwesterly right-of-way of Interstate Highway 90 to the south line of the SE 1/4 of
said Section 7; thence N 46°26'41" W, 72.73 feet along said southwesterly right-of-way to a
curve; thence Northwesterly 376.24 feet along said southwesterly right-of-way and the arc of a
curve to the right, having a radius of 5869.65 feet and a chord bearing N 44°39'31"W, 376.18
feet; thence N 33°53'16" W, 1836.94 feet along said southwesterly right-of-way; thence N
21°25'19" W, 577.02 feet along the westerly right-of-way of Interstate Highway 90 to the
southeasterly line of the WDOT lands (formerly the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad corridor);
thence N 24°08'15" E, 533.24 feet along said southeasterly line of the WDOT lands to the north
line of the South 5 acres of the East 1/2 of the NW 1/4 of said Section 7; thence S 87°32'44"E,
61.09 feet along said north line to the north-south quarter line of said Section 7; thence N

00°33'01" W, 135.92 feet along said north-south quarter line to said southeasterly line of the
WDOT lands; thence N 24°08'15" E, 24.88 feet along said southeasterly line of the WDOT lands
to the north line of the South 10 acres of the West 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of said Section 7 as
monumented along the south line of Farmington Woods; thence S 87°37'06" E, 1307.94 feet
along said north line of the South 10 acres to the east line of the West 1/2 of the NE 1/4 of said
Section 7; thence S 00°35'59" E, 325.94 feet along said east line of the West 1/2 of the NE '/4 to
the Point of Beginning. Containing 78.42 acres, more or less.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory attached by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 34 of the
City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation is within the Milton School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
