2016-666 ORDINANCE NO. 2016 -666 An ordinance amending Chapter 12, Streets, Sidewalks and Public Property, Chapter 15, Buildings and Construction, Chapter 15, Buildings and Construction, Chapter 17, Subdivision, Chapter 18, Zoning of the Janesville Municipal Code to modify the fee structure for permits, with penalties for violations thereof, together with injunctive relief and remedies upon default of forfeiture payment as set forth in JGO 12.04.060, JGO 15.80.110, JGO 17.56.010 and JGO 18.28.010. THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. GUIDELINES AND CRITERIA FOR PLUMBING PERMITS A. Permit Fees shall be submitted per Section 15.01.140 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville. B. The Following are Subject to Permit Fees: 1. All new fixtures and appliances as indicated on the application form furnished the applicant, including water heaters, water softeners, storm inlets, roof drains, and hose bibs; 2. All plugged or capped openings left for future installation of fixtures; 3. When any change is made in the water, soil, waste or vent piping which necessitates the resetting of any plumbing fixture or appliance, each fixture so affected; 4. All building sewers (sanitary), building sewers (storm) and water services; 5. Clear water, water only, water and wastewater, or wastewater only meters and related piping. IV. Fees for Plumbing Plan Approval – Same as Dept. of Safety and Professional Services Fccs. See Appendix A Building and Development Services VII. Section 12.12.040 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is hereby amended to read as follows: 12.12.040 Curb opening – Application for Permit — Fee A. All applications for a permit required by section 12.12.010 shall be filed in the building inspection department. Such application shall be on forms available at the office of the building inspection department and shall be furnished upon request. B. A fee of fifteen fifty dollars shall be charged for each curb opening permit issued. (Ord. 82 295'l(part), 1982). SECTION III. Section 17.16.180 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is hereby amended to read as follows: 17.16.180 Fees A. The subdivider shall pay, upon filing the preliminary certified survey, the sum of $150.00 and the sum of $150.00 upon the filing of a final certified survey map. B. The subdivider shall pay, upon filing of the preliminary plat, the sum of $500.00 or $15 per lot whichever is greater, and upon the filing of a final plat, the sum of $250.00 or $10 per acre whichever is greater. C. Any individual who applies for a release of a utility easement shall pay a sum of $150.00 for processing such a request. D. Any individual who applies for the vacation of a street or alley or other right -of -way shall pay a sum of $250.00 for processing such a request. E. Any individual who applies for land sale and transfer of land between adjoining owners shall pay a sum of $150.00 for processing such a request. E. F. The fees as listed above shall be reviewed on at least a five -year cycle beginning on August 1999. K G. The above fees shall take effect on January 1, 200-7 2017 SECTION V. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so requiring.
