2016-659 ORDINANCE NO. 2016 -659
An ordinance attaching territory in Section 13 in T.2N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M.,
Town of Rock, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, the owners of the land within such territory proposed to be attached have
executed and . recorded attachment agreements that set forth the timeframe,
circumstances and conditions upon which attachment of property to the City of
Janesville shall occur within the City of Janesville/Town of Rock Cooperative Boundary
Plan area; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as
required by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed attachment to
be against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this attachment is in the public
interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
The territory described as follows in Sections I. through III. is hereby attached to the City
of Janesville.
SECTION I. Part of NW 1 /4 of the SW '/4 of Section 13, T.2N., R.12E. of the 4th PM Town
of Rock, Rock County, Wisconsin, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the quarter section line 30 rods East of the NW corner of the SW
1/4 of Section 13, Town 2 North, Range 12 East, Township of Rock, County of Rock,
State of Wisconsin; running thence South parallel with the West line of said section a
distance of 20 rods to a point; running thence East and parallel with the North line of said
section a distance of 10 rods to a point; running thence North and parallel with the West
line of said section a distance of 20 rods to the North quarter line of said SW 1/4; running
thence West along the quarter line above referred to, to the point of beginning.
SECTION II. Part of NW '/4 of the SW 1/4 of Section 13, T.2N., R.12E. of the 4th PM
Town of Rock, Rock County, Wisconsin, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the quarter section line 25 rods East of the NW corner of the SW
1/4 of Section 13, Town 2 North, Range 12 East, Township of Rock, County of Rock,
State of Wisconsin; running thence South and parallel with the West line of said section
a distance of 20 rods to a point; running thence East and parallel with the North line of
said section a distance of 5 rods to a point; running thence North and parallel with the
West line of said section, a distance of 20 rods to the North quarter line of said SW 1/4;
running thence West along the quarter line above referred to, to the point of beginning.

SECTION III. Part of NW 1 /4 of the SW % of Section 13, T.2N., R.12E. of the 4th PM
Town of Rock, Rock County, Wisconsin, described as follows:
Lot 3 and the East 20 feet of Lot 2 of Certified Survey Map recorded in Volume 2 of
Certified Survey Maps on Pages 337 -339 as Doc. No. 790624 being part of the N 1/2 of
the SW 1/4 of Section 13, T.2N., R.12E., of the 4th P.M., Rock Township, Rock County,
Wisconsin.
SECTION IV. The attachment of the above described property will become effective
immediately upon adoption by the Common Council. Upon that date the above
described property shall be exempt from and not subject to further taxation and
assessments in the Town of Rock and thence forth shall be subject to taxation and
assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION V. All the territory attached by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 30
of the City of Janesville.
SECTION VI. There are no residents in the area proposed for attachment.
SECTION VII. The attachment is within the Janesville School District.
SECTION VIII. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the
Common Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public
benefit, and police power so requiring.
