2016-1366 RESOLUTION NO. 2016 — 1366
Whereas, Mark Leisten is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than thirty -five
years; retiring as an Operator III with the Public Works Department, Water Utilities Division; and
Whereas, during Mark Leisten's employment with the City of Janesville, he provided
exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his
position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
Whereas, Mark Leisten began his employment with the City of Janesville as a Laborer I
with the Streets Division on April 8, 1981; and
Whereas, Mark Leisten transferred to the Parks Division in 1983 and was promoted to
Waterworks Operator I in the Water Department in March of 1988. Mark Leisten held several
positions in his career with the City of Janesville including Waterworks Operator I, Waterworks
Operator II, and in September of 1998, he was promoted to Waterworks Operator Leadperson
which was later changed to Operator III, and held that position until his retirement; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Mark Leisten for his more than thirty -five
years of loyal public service.
