2016-655 REVISED ORDINANCE NO. 2016 -655
An ordinance amending Chapter 18 and Chapter 16 of the Code of General Ordinances to allow
storage sheds up to 120 square feet in area and twelve feet in height within mobile home parks,
with penalties for violations thereof, together with injunctive relief and remedies upon default of
forfeiture payment as set forth in JGO 18.28.010 and JGO 16.04.120.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 18.24.080 D.9. of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby amended to read as follows:
9. Tenant Storage. One storage building accessory to a mobile home shall
be permitted on a mobile home lot provided that the storage building does not exceed eighty
square feet and does not exceed eight feet in height. Such storage building shall be fully
enclosed and located on the mobile home lot.
A storage building may be eighty -one to one hundred twenty square feet,
provided the mobile home court owner or management approves and delivers written
permission along with a building permit application to the Public Works, Building and
Development Services Division. Said accessory building may be no taller than the roof peak
height of the mobile home being served or twelve feet, whichever is less. The structure's interior
sidewall may not exceed eight feet in height.
SECTION 11. Section 16.12.260 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Janesville is hereby amended to read as follows:

SECTION 111. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public
benefit, and police power so requiring.
