2016-1317 FILE RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -1317
A resolution supporting the naming of the Monterey Stadium press box to the
Wedeward - Fagerli Press Box.
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville was approached by Mike O'Brien and Mel
Cushing from WCLO -WJVL, Bliss Communications on the proposal to name the
press box at Monterey Stadium; and
WHEREAS, according to Council Policy No. 94, after introduction, the proposal
must be reviewed by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and not
acted on for ninety (90) days after introduction; and
WHEREAS, Dave Wedeward and Al Fagerli of WCLO -WJVL and Bliss
Communications have a combined 82 years of dedication to high school athletics
and have won numerous awards and honors for their coverage of high school
sports; and
WHEREAS, fundraising for the signage creation would be completed by the Bliss
Communications' staff;
NOW THERFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City
of Janesville, that the Janesville City Council do hereby name the Monterey
Stadium press box the "Wedeward - Fagerli Press Box ".
