An organizational meeting of the Janesville City Council, held at the Municipal Building on April 20, 2004,
at 7:00 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by City Clerk-Treasurer Jean Ann Wulf. Councilmember Williams led
the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present: Councilmembers Addie, Brien, Steeber, Tim Wellnitz, Tom Wellnitz and Williams. Absent:
Councilmember DeGarmo.
ELECTION OF COUNCIL PRESIDENT AND VICE-PRESIDENT:
The City Clerk-Treasurer called for nominations from the floor for City Council President. Councilmember
Williams moved to nominate Councilmember Steeber as Council President, seconded by Councilmember
Tom Wellnitz. The City Clerk-Treasurer called for any other nominations three times and received no
further nominations. Nominations were closed and Councilmember Steeber was elected President by a
unanimous vote. Council President Steeber called for nominations from the floor for City Council Vice-
President. Councilmember Brien moved to nominate Councilmember Tom Wellnitz as Council Vice-
President, seconded by Councilmember Addie. The Council President called for any other nominations
three times and received no further nominations. Nominations were closed and Councilmember Tom
Wellnitz was elected Vice-President by a unanimous vote.
Council President Steeber established the new seating arrangement for the Council starting at the
President's far left: Councilmembers Tim Wellnitz, Brien, Williams, and Tom Wellnitz; starting from the
President's far right: Councilmembers Addie and DeGarmo.
There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 7:04 p.m.
These minutes are not official until approved by the City Council.
