RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE RENAMING OF
A PORTION OF THE ROCK TRAIL TO PEACE TRAIL
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville is planning to construct a new bike trail from Peace
Park south to Tripp Road; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Michael Morris and the Peace Committee have requested the bike trail
be named "Peace Trail" to be consistent with other references to Peace Park, Peace
Playground and Peace Pavilion; and
WHEREAS, the Rock Trail Coalition, who has adopted this section of the bike trail
supports this request; and
WHEREAS, it is in the City's best interest to recognize and support the efforts of the
Peace Committee and the Rock Trail Coalition;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Janesville City Council hereby names
the bike trail from Peace Park south to Tripp Road as the Peace Trail.
