2016-642 FILE ORDINANCE NO. 2016 - 642
An ordinance amending the Order of Business of Common Council meetings.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 2.04.040 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is hereby
amended to read as follows:
2.04.040 Order of business.* The order of business shall be:
A. Call to Order, Pledge of Allegiance, and Emergency Procedures;
B. Roll call;
C. Recognitions
D. Public comments on items on the Agenda not requiring a public hearing and on matters
which can be affected by Council action;
E. City Manager update;
F. Showcase Janesville presentation, at Council President's discretion;
G. Minutes of previous meeting(s);
H. Licenses, , waiver of special assessment(s), monthly financial
report(s), citizen recognition(s) and proclamation(s), certified survey map(s), and liability claim(s). In
any order determined by the presiding officer.
I. Old business;
.J. New business;
K. Matters not on the agenda;
L. Adjournment.
SECTION H. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the
public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so requiring.
