Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville held in the Municipal Building on December 8,
2003.
The meeting was called to order by Council President Williams at 4:30 p.m.
Present: Council President Williams, Councilmembers Addie, Steeber, Brien (arrived at 4:43 p.m.) Murphy,
DeGarmo (arrived at 4:38 p.m.) and Wellnitz.
1. Review of information concerning the feasibility of a curfew ordinance.
Deputy Chief Steve Kopp reviewed the curfew study report with Council. Councilmembers asked various
questions as they discussed the report. Councilmembers Steeber and Addie requested a curfew ordinance
be introduced on January 12, 2004 with a public hearing on February 9, 2004.
Council President Williams adjourned the meeting at 5:47 p.m. to immediately following completion of the
council meeting.
Council President Williams reconvened the special meeting at 8:10 p.m.
2. Review of Plans for a coffee shop at the Hedberg Public Library.
Council reviewed various options with Library Director Krueger. Councilmember Steeber requested the
Administration prepare a list of potential vendors interested in providing beverage service and explore
alternate sources of funding. Councilmember Addie requested the Administration prepare revenue
estimates for a vending machine option. By consensus, council directed the Library Director to proceed
with requests for proposals.
There being no further business, Council adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
