2016-1280 RESOLUTION NO. 2016 -1280
A RESOLUTION authorizing the extension of Progress Drive including a right -in and
right -out intersection at STH 11
WHEREAS, the City owns undeveloped land within a South Side Industrial Park located near
the northwest corner of Beloit Avenue and STH 11; and
WHEREAS, the subject property is only served by one access point at the intersection of West
Venture Drive and Beloit Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the City and State approved a CSM in 2001 dedicating Progress Drive right -of -way
to allow a future connection with STH 11, approximately 2,400 ft west of the intersection of
Beloit Avenue and STH 11; and
WHEREAS, the extension of Progress Drive and connection with STH 11 is anticipated in 2017
with improvements being paid for using TIF 22 funds; and
WHEREAS, staff needs to submit a resolution supporting Progress Drive to the State as a
condition of the access permit to connect to STH 11
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JANESVILLE, that the extension of Progress Drive and construction of a second access point
to the industrial park allowing a right -in and right -out connection with STH 11 is a benefit to the
community.
