An ordinance changing the zoning classification of property located within the 300-400
block of S. Walnut Street from R3 and M1 to R2, with a penalty and injunctive relief for a
violation thereof as set forth in Section 18.28.010 of the Code of General Ordinances of
the City of Janesville.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVlLLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The zoning classification of the following described property is hereby changed
from R3, General Residence District, and M1, Light Industrial District, to R2, Limited General
Residence District:
Part of the S¼ of Section 35 T.3N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Janesville Township, Rock County,
Wisconsin.
DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 7, Block 24, Smith's
Addition; thence westerly along the north line of said Lot 7, 132' more or less to the northeast
corner of Lot 8, Block 24, Smith's Addition; thence southerly along the east line of said Lot 8, 66'
more or less to the southeast corner of said Lot 8; thence southerly, 33' more or less, to the
centerline of Johnson Street vacated; thence westerly along the former centerline of Johnson
Street, 237 feet, more or less, to the centerline of South Oakhill Avenue; thence southerly along
the centerline of South Oakhill Avenue, 138' more or less, to the intersection of the centerline of
South Oakhill Avenue and the south line of Outlot 2, Arch Street Industrial Park, extended;
thence easterly 35' more or less to the southwest corner of said Outlot 2; thence easterly along
the south line of said Outlot 2, 63' more or less to the southeast corner of said Outlot 2; thence
southerly, 76' more or less, to the southwest corner of Lot 8, Block 9, Smith's Addition; thence
easterly along the south line of said Lot 8, 142' more or less, to the southwest corner of Lot 3,
Block 9, Smith's Addition; thence easterly along the south line of said Lot 3, 132' to the
southeast corner of said Lot 3; thence continuing easterly, 35' more or less to the centerline of
South Walnut Street; thence northerly, 311' more or less, to the intersection of the centerline of
South Walnut Street and the north line of Lot 7, Block 24, Smith's Addition, extended; thence
westerly, 35' more or less, to the point of beginning.
SECTION II. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
