An ordinance annexing territory in Section 10, T.2N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Town of
Rock, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of one-half of the land area with such
territory proposed to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as
required by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, more than 20 days have passed since the publication of the notice of intention
to circulate the petition and less than 120 days have passed since the filing of the
annexation petition with the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public
interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville.
Part of Government Lot 8 and part of the SE.l/4 of the SE.1/4 of Section 10, T.2N., R.12E.
of the 4th P.M., Rock Township, Rock County, Wisconsin, described as follows:
Commencing at the SE. corner of said Section 10; thence N.0°18'08"E. along the East line
of the SE.1/4 of said Section, 597.53 feet; thence S.89°27'W. 990.37 feet to the SW. corner
of Wick Addition, also being the place of beginning for the land to be herein described;
thence S.89°27'W. 1459.06 feet; thence N.2°13'30"E. 19.67 feet; thence N.89°25'19"E.
539.65 feet; thence N.0°36'40"W. 290.0 feet; thence N.89°22'32"E. 630.22 feet to a line that
is parallel with and 290.0 feet West of the West line of Guy L. Nichols' Valley Park; thence
N.0°16'50"W. along said line, 434.16 feet to the South line of the North ½ of said SE.1/4 of
said Section; thence S.89°34'30"E. along said south line, 290.02 feet to the West line of
said Wick Addition; thence S.0°16'50"E. along said West line, 739.96 feet to the place of
beginning. Containing 9.67 acres.
Excepting therefrom:

of the 4th P.M., Rock Township, Rock County, Wisconsin, described as follows:

beginning.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall
be exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Rock
and thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of
Janesville for any and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 19 of
the City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Janesville School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
