2016-1267 RESOLUTION NO. 2016 — 1267 Whereas, James P. Jensen is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than twenty - seven years; retiring as the Fire Chief with the Janesville Fire Department; and Whereas, during James Jensen's employment with the City of Janesville, he provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and Whereas, James Jensen began his employment with the Janesville Fire Department as a firefighter /EMT; and Whereas, James Jensen was involved in a variety of assignments during his career including firefighter, EMT, hazardous materials technician, driver, Assistant Fire Chief, Deputy Fire Chief, and Fire Chief; and Whereas, James Jensen obtained and /or oversaw well over one million dollars of grant funds obtained for the betterment of fire department services to the community; and Whereas, James Jensen was instrumental in moving ahead the replacement and construction of Fire Station #1; and Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly recognized; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to James Jensen for his more than twenty - seven years of loyal public service.
