2015-1245 RESOLUTION NO. 2015 -1245
A RESOLUTION to opt out of implements of husbandry length and weight limits for
agricultural implements and agricultural commercial vehicles
WHEREAS, 2013 Wisconsin Act 377 under Section 348.27(19)(b)5.a. provides that a
municipality may authorize implements of husbandry as defined in Section 340.01(24) and
agricultural commercial vehicles as defined in Section 340.01(1o) of Wisconsin Statutes to
exceed any statutory length and weight limits imposed by Chapter 348 of Wisconsin Statues;
and
WHEREAS, there are undeveloped properties within the City corporate limits being used for
agricultural purposes requiring access using public streets; and
WHEREAS, agricultural implements and agricultural commercial vehicles may exceed certain
length and weight requirements outlined by Ordinance but are necessary to support local
agricultural businesses;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JANESVILLE, that pursuant to Wisconsin Statute Section 348.27(19)(b)5.a. implements of
husbandry and agricultural commercial vehicles as defined in Chapter 340 of Wisconsin
Statutes are permitted to exceed any statutory length and weight limits imposed by Chapter 348
of Wisconsin Statutes beginning January 1, 2016.
