2003-184ORDINANCE NO. 2003-184 An ordinance annexing territory in Section 33, T.3N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M., Town of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin. WHEREAS, a petition signed by all the owners of all the land within such territory proposed to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, there are no electors residing in the territory; and WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by law to all persons affected; and WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be against the public interest; and WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby annexed to the City of Janesville. PART OF THE SE. ¼ OF SECTION 33, T.3N., R.12E. OF THE 4TM P.M., JANESVILLE TOWNSHIP, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN. DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Commencing at the East ¼ corner of said Section 33; thence S.1°14'E. along the East Line of the SE ¼ of said Section, 54.02 feet; thence N.89°34'15"W. 86.0 feet; thence N.88°41'26"W. 568.45 feet; thence S. 41°48'10"E. 108.51 feet to the place of beginning for the land to be herein described; thence continuing S.41°48'10"E. 396.87 feet; thence S.48°11'50"W. 750.0 feet; thence S.41°48'10"E. 19.02 feet to the Northwesterly line of Rockport Ridge Estates Fourth Addition; thence S.49°41'20"W. along said Northwesterly line, 942.79 feet to the most Westerly corner of Lot 65 of said Fourth Addition; thence S.40°18'40"E. 305.0 feet to the most Southerly corner of Lot 64 of said Fourth Addition; thence S.49°41'20"W. 130.0feet; thence S.45°36'12"W. 70.18 feet; thence S.49°41'20"W. 131.24 feet; thence S.31°31'06"E. 143.20 feet; thence S.89°32'58"W. 436.19 feet; thence N.4°02'21"E., 74.08 feet; thence N.5°50'W. 153.0 feet; thence N.49°43'34"E. 214.55 feet; thence N.40°18'40"W., 223.0 feet; thence N.49°41'20"E. 35.0 feet; thence N.40°18'40"W. 144.65 feet; thence N.58°57'13"E., 104.43 feet; thence N.60°15'E. 70.03 feet; thence N.49°41'20"E. 954.0 feet; thence N.37°18'21"E. 420.96 feet; thence N.49°41'20"E. 444.64 feet to the place of beginning. Containing 21.53 acres. SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of ORDINANCE NO. 2003-184 PAGE 2 Janesville and thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any and all purpose provided by law. SECTION II1. All the territory annexed by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 26 of the City of Janesville. SECTION IV. There are no residents in the area proposed for annexation. SECTION V. The annexation area is within the Janesville School District. SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so requiring.
