Resolution approving a proposed tentative 2016 — 2018 Labor Agreement by and between the
City of Janesville and Firefighters Local Number 580
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville, Wisconsin, is a home -rule city incorporated under and operating
under the Constitution and laws of the State of Wisconsin, Chapter 64 of the Wisconsin Statutes, and
a certain Charter Ordinance specific for Janesville; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville is a collective bargaining city and unit of government under Chapter
111.70, Subchapter IV, of the Wisconsin Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the existing and operative 2013 -2015 Labor Agreement between the City of Janesville
and Firefighters Local Number 580 expires on December 31, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the City and Firefighters Local Number 580 have been engaged in the good faith
collective bargaining process for a successor Labor Agreement; and
WHEREAS, the City and Firefighters Local Number 580 have reached a tentative agreement to the
terms of a successor 2016 — 2018 Labor Agreement, a true and correct photocopy of which is
attached hereto, reiterated, and incorporated herein by reference as if fully set forth verbatim [with the
changes between the two agreements highlighted], which tentative agreement was unanimously
ratified by the membership of Firefighters Local Number 580 on Monday, the 19 day of October
2015; and
WHEREAS, the proposed tentative successor agreement is recommended by the City Administration
for Common Council approval, hereby finding it in the City's best interests and of benefit to the
community and taxpayers.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that they
hereby approve the attached proposed tentative 2016 — 2018 Labor Agreement By and Between the
City of Janesville and Firefighters Local Number 580; and further direct the City Administration to
execute same and implement the Agreement's terms, conditions, and provisions on behalf of the City
of Janesville and Common Council.
