2015-600 ORDINANCE NO. 2015 - 600
An ordinance adding microbreweries and brewpubs to the list of conditional uses within the B3, B4,
B5, B6 and M3 zoning districts, with penalties for violations thereof, together with injunctive relief
and remedies upon default of forfeiture payment as set forth in JGO 18.28.010.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 18.20.089 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is
hereby created to read as follows:
18.20.089 BREWPUB. "Brewpub" means a restaurant that holds a Class B
liquor license and is licensed by the State of Wisconsin to manufacture not more
than 10,000 barrels of fermented malt beverages annually or as otherwise
amended from time to time by the State.
SECTION II. Section 18.20.624 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is
hereby amended to read as follows:
18.20.624 MICROBREWERY. "Microbrewery" means a place of business
licensed by the State of Wisconsin to operate as a brewery and operated for the
production of not more than 60,000 barrels of fermented malt beverages
annually and the sale of said beverages for onsite consumption or in sealed

SECTION XIII. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit,
and police power so requiring.
