RESOLUTION NO. 2005-227
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT WITH ALLIANT
ENERGY FOR ENERGY SA VINGS PROJECTS RELATED TO THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING
RENOVATION
WHEREAS, Alliant Energy and the City of Janesvil1e have detennined that the use of energy efficient
technology in the Municipal building wil1 substantially reduce electrical energy usage; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville seeks to control energy related costs which have consistently increased in
recent years due to increases in energy rates; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council finds that this energy savings project benefits the City and is in the best
interest of the community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Janesvil1e that:
1. The City Manager and City Administration, on behalf of the City of Janesvil1e, are hereby jointly and
several1y authorized to enter into a contract with Alliant Energy.
2. The City wil1 receive a low-interest loan from Alliant Energy in the amount of $39,355.
3. The loan, plus interest set at three (3) percent, wil1 be repaid within five (5) years after the acceptance
date of the contract (see Schedule C of attached contract for amortization schedule).
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council that the City of Janesvil1e, that the City Manager and
his designee(s) on behalf of the City of Janesville, is/are hereby authorized and empowered to negotiate, draft,
modify, review, and execute this contract, and enter into additional agreements, record, file and/or make minor
modifications and/or amendments to any and al1 documents, papers, fonns, and agreements, and to make
whatever other actions as the City Manager may detennine, from time to time and at any time, necessary and/or
desirable to effectuate the intent of this resolution and/or project.
