2015-1190 RESOLUTION NO. 2015 -1190
Whereas, Danny E. Davis is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than thirty
years; retiring as the Deputy Police Chief of Support Services with the Janesville Police
Department; and
Whereas, during Danny E. Davis' employment with the City of Janesville, he provided
exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his
position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
Whereas, Danny E. Davis began his employment with the Janesville Police Department
as a Patrolman and during his career was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, Lieutenant,
Captain and then Deputy Police Chief; and
Whereas, Danny E. Davis was involved in a variety of assignments during his career
including Field Training Officer, Court Liaison Officer, Crime Prevention Officer, Neighborhood
Watch Program, Shift Supervisor, Community Services Sergeant, Emergency Response
Team, Investigations Lieutenant, Accreditation, and Alcohol License Advisory Committee; and
Whereas, Danny E. Davis received the Janesville Police Department's Award of
Excellence in 2002 and 2010; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Danny E. Davis for his more than thirty
years of loyal public service.
