2015-1160 RESOLUTION NO. 2015 -1160
A resolution vacating a portion of Prospect Avenue between Eisenhower Avenue and Centerway.
WHEREAS, a portion of Prospect Avenue between Eisenhower Avenue and Centerway hereinafter
designated and previously dedicated for street purposes is hereby determined to be no longer needed
for public use, and therefore, the public interest requires the vacation of such street portion; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the traffic flow will not be impeded by the vacation of such street
portion; and
WHEREAS, the proposed street vacation has been referred to the Plan Commission for its consideration
and report as required by 62.23(5), Wisconsin State Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the public hearing was held on vacation of such street portion and notice required by
Wisconsin Statutes 66.1003 has been timely published and served; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE
that the following described street portion be and is hereby vacated and discontinued pursuant to
66.1003 and 62.22(Im), Wisconsin Statutes:
Located in the SE % of Section 25, T. 3N., R.12E. of the 4 P. M., City of Janesville, Rock County,
Wisconsin described as follows: Commencing at the northwest corner of Lot 4 of Pease's Addition to the
City of Janesville thence N88 "E a distance of 88.14 feet along the north line of Lot 4 as
monumented to the northeast corner of said lot and the place of beginning for this description marked
with a found iron pipe; thence continuing N88 "E a distance of 123.65 feet to a point in the
southerly right of way of Prospect Avenue being also the northwesterly bounds of Partridges Subdivision
of Lot 5 of Pease's Addition to Janesville marked with a set rebar; thence S56 a distance of
250.01 feet along said right of way to a point lying on the southerly extension of the west line of Lot 4
Pease's Addition marked with a set rebar; thence N01 ° 11'24 "W a distance of 77.96 feet to the southerly
most corner of Lot 4 of Pease's Addition marked with a found iron pipe; thence N56 "E a distance
of 104.03 feet along the southerly line of Lot 4 aforesaid, to the place of beginning. Said parcel
containing 11,688 s. f. more or less.
