A resolution recognizing the Janesville Firefighters Union Local 580's commitment and dedication
to the Janesviile community, through their sponsorship and participation in the "Count Me In"
Spaghetti Fundraiser benefiting the Janesville Senior Center Renovation project.
WHEREAS, the Senior Center Fundraising Committee sponsored a fund drive dedicated to
raising funds for new furnishings for the renovated Janesville Senior Center, and
WHEREAS, the Senior Center is an important element of Janesville's outstanding quality of life
and an important part of the City's Recreation program, and
WHEREAS, the existing building will undergo extensive renovation and addition scheduled for
completion in the spring of 2001, and
WHEREAS, the "Count Me In" Spaghetti Fundraiser was an important event to build community
commitment and raise funds for the project, and
WHEREAS, the generosity and community spirit displayed by the Janesville Firefighters Union
Local 580 in sponsoring this event was crucial in ensuring its success.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that
they hereby commend the Janesville Firefighters Union Local 580 for their commitment to the
community and donation of time toward the success of the Senior Center Fundraising Drive.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Janesville Firefighters Union Local 580 demonstrated .the
finest tradition of civic responsibility and should be praised for their dedication to the Janesville community.
